The document editor stores document content locally in your browser using IndexedDB. The site retains the existing OptiDesk Google Analytics tag for aggregate usage analytics, but document contents are not uploaded to a document-storage service by OptiEdit.
Yes, provided OptiEdit is hosted on the exact same web origin as OptiDesk. Browser IndexedDB is isolated by origin, so moving the editor to another domain or subdomain requires using the backup/import feature.
Yes. The interface is responsive and includes a mobile action bar. On supported browsers it can be installed as a progressive web app. On iPhone, use Safari’s Share menu and choose Add to Home Screen.
OptiEdit supports OptiDesk JSON backups, plain text, Markdown, HTML and DOCX imports. Browser support and loaded libraries can affect some advanced conversions.
Yes. Use Export → PDF to create a PDF from the current rich-text document.
On supported Chromium-based browsers, OptiEdit can open and save local TXT, Markdown, HTML, JSON and XML files through the browser File System Access API. Other browsers fall back to the existing import and export workflow.
